Awami League candidate for Faridpur-3 constituency Khandker Mosharraf Hossain yesterday alleged that BNP contestant Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf is in a secret entente with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda. He made the allegation while addressing an election rally at Sarda Sundari Girls' School field in the district town.
Mosharraf, also LGRD and Cooperatives Minister, said he received a phone call from the Election Commission when they wanted to know about Yusuf's allegation that the BNP contestant was being obstructed from carrying out electioneering. "I phoned the CEC to talk to him over the allegation, but he didn't receive my call. Even, he didn't call me back showing courtesy.
Isn't it EC's partiality? They've certainly an entente with the Commission," he said, adding that the CEC cannot behave like this.
The ruling party contender also alleged that the BNP candidate has lost his sense to differentiate the good and the bad as leaders and activists of his party and people have no participation in his electioneering.
He claimed that Yusuf was bringing such allegations as he was looking for a way to quit the election race.
