Hospital vandalised after patient dies

UNB, Laxmipur

Relatives of a male patient vandalised a local hospital on Saturday night following his death allegedly for wrong treatment in the district headquarters.

Laxmipur Police Superintendent A S M Mahatab Uddin said Mohammad Sekantor, a staff of Laxmipur District office and a resident of Abir Nagar village, was taken to Laxmipur Modern Hospital with chest pain around 7 pm.

As the patient’s condition deteriorated, the on-duty doctor pushed an injection around 9 pm. Later, he died, alleged the relatives of the patient. Being angered over the incident, his relatives vandalised the hospital.

On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
