Even after five days, investigators were yet to make any headway in the probe into the murder of Italian aid worker Cesare Tavella.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muntasirul Islam Rony said, “Till now, no arrest has been made over the murder.”
There was no update to inform the media, he added.
Replying to a question, the DMP official said, “We are not investigating the case from a single point of view, but considering all possible aspects. We shall inform you if there is any significant update in the probe.”
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Legal and Media Wing Deputy Director Major Maksudul Alam also said they were still clueless.
“We have no information, and are yet to identify anyone. No arrest was made in this connection,” he added.
Cesare Tavella, 50, an official of Netherlands-based aid organisation ICCO Cooperation, was shot dead on Monday evening.
