At least seven people were killed and 20 others injured in a fatal road accident at Jamalpur on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway of the district at 10pm yesterday, reports BSS. Sherpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Golam Nurunnabi said the accident occurred when a Sylhet-bound passenger bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' hit a truck which was standing on the roadside, leaving three people killed on the spot. Police with the help of locals rescued the injured and sent them to Sylhet AMG Osmani Medical College Hospital where four others succumbed their injuries. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, police said.
