Rescheduling of �erroneous� date demanded

The Mahanagar Sarbojonin Puja Committee today urged the government to reschedule this year’s public holiday on Durga Puja on October 22 instead of October 23 fixed earlier by the authorities as the festival will end through celebration of ‘Bijoya Dashami’ on Thursday. The demand was placed following the annual general meeting of the committee held on the premises of Sri Sri Dakeshwari National Temple here this morning, said a committee release. Chaired by Mahanagar Sarbojonin Puja Committee (MSPC) President JL Bhowmik, the meeting was attended by State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda as the chief guest. Bangladesh Puja Uddjapan Parishad President Sri Kazal Devnath inaugurated the meeting while Sri Swapan Bhattacharya MP attended it as the special guest.
