CU student found hanging

Police recovered the hanging body of a student of Chittagong University from a cottage (privately-run mess) on the campus yesterday. The deceased was identified as Jahangir Raju, hailing from Sonaimuri in Noakhali district and a student of Economics Department of 2014-15 session. Sajjad Hossain, a student of Law Department, said that as Raju’s phone was found switched off for a long time his brother contacted with his friends over phone.

His friends knocked the door of his room around 8:30 am. Getting no response they peeped through the window and saw his hanging body. On information, police recovered the body, said Belal Uddin Jahangir, officer-in-charge of Hathazari Police Station. Proctor Ali Azgar Chowdhury said that it is not clear yet whether it was suicide or murder.
