A mobile court fined the owners of eight pharmacies Tk 45,500 for selling doctor's sample and unapproved foreign medicines in shops. Md Ruhul Amin, executive magistrate and deputy revenue collector of Chittagong district administration, led the mobile court in different areas of the city yesterday. “Some unscrupulous businessmen have been selling unauthorised drugs, which were manufactured in India. They were also selling physician sample drugs and unauthorised food supplements at higher prices. The court fined the owners of eight pharmacies in accordance with Drug Act 1940,” said the magistrate. KM Muhsinin Mahbub, superintendent of Drugs, Drug Administration, Chittagong, was also present during the drives.
