Saif Sporting, one of the title contenders were very impressive in the seasons’ opener Federation Cup when they advanced into the quarterfinal after 3-1 win over BJMC and drubbing Brothers Union by 5-0.
However, Saif, from the beginning of the match were playing with good domination and went closer to break the deadlock in the very eighth minute.
Saif could have taken the lead through Javed Khan at the early hour but the left winger took his shot from inside the area having the ball from a combined move but his attempt was straight hit a defender.
Failing to score a long 85 minutes, Saif looked anxious and aggressive and it was no surprise when they finally struck on 86th minute.
Everything fell into place for the Saif, though, when they picked up possession on the edge of the penalty area, wide on the left, Jamal took a curling right-footed free kick that arced over the head of the defenders’ wall and into the top corner of the net (1-0).
