Minister’s son-in-law sustains bullet

The son-in-law of Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda sustained bullet as some unidentified miscreants attacked his residence in Bakshipara area of the city on Friday night.

The injured Probash Chandra Datta, 50, also deputy general manager of Bangladesh Bank’s Khulna Branch, received bullet in the abdomen and was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. A four-member gang of miscreants entered the residence of Probash Chandra around 10:30 pm and opened fire on him, said Narayan Chandra’s son Bishwajit Chandra  Chanda.

Immediately after the incident, miscreants fled away from the spot, said the minister’s son adding, “Political reason might have been behind the attack.”
