Kanthoshilon remembers elocutionist Noren Biswas

In memory of the late Bakshilpacharya (elocutionist) Noren Biswas, recitation troupe Kanthoshilon organised a commemorative programme on his 20th death anniversary in the capital’s Central Public Library on Tuesday.

The programme began with a recorded recitation of Noren Biswas. Then, general secretary of Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad Bulbul Islam rendered a Rabindra Sangeet titled ‘Tumi Robe Nirobe’ dedicating to Noren Biswas.

At the event, vice-chancellor of Sheikh Hasina University professor Dr Rafiq Ullah Khan, who was also the student of Noren Biswas, spoke on the life and work of Noren Biswas. Presided over by Kanthoshilon president Golam Sarwar, Kanthoshilon principal Mir Barkat delivered the welcome speech at the event.

In the second phase of the event, recitation artistes professor Kazi Madina, Ashraful Alam,  Dahlia Ahmed, Belayet Hossain, Ahkamullah, Iqbal Khorshed, Rafiqul Islam, Shimul Mostafa, Rezina Wali Leena,  Maksur A Sattar Kollol, Alok Basu, Dr Sahadat Hossain Nipu, Kazi Mahtab Sumon, Fayzul Alam Pappu, Nazmul Ahsan, Ahsan Ullah Tomal, Faizullah Syed, Sohel Anwar, Samsuzzoha, Naila Tarannum Chowdhury Kakoli , Khaleq Mollik, Masuduzzaman, Tamanna Tithi, Masum Azizul Bashar, Shahidul Islam Nazu, Suprova Seboti and Nazmul Ahsan recited poems.
