Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP) thrashed St. Joseph International School by a thin wafer 1-0 goal margin in the fairly-contested final of the Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 International Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi.
Ratna Akhtar scored the lone goal for the BKSP to clinch the trophy for the second time. Just 30 seconds before the final whistle, Ratna made the winning goal.
Ratna was adjudged the player of the tournament and BKSP coach Joya Chakma was named for the best coach award.
The visiting side beat West Bengal by 7-0 goals in the quarter-final and Sports Authority of India by 5-4 goals in the semi-final to sneak into the final.
BKSP director general Brig Gen Anisur Rahman greeted the winning women's team after their arrival at BKSP yesterday.
