Stocks closed the week down yesterday with falling trend of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges due to lower activities of some large-cap securities.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 14.48 points down at 5,244.63. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 2.96 points down at 1,856.12 and 2.35 points down at 1,208.11 respectively.
Out of the 350 issues traded on the DSE, 141 gained against 184 losing issues. During the week, the daily average trade value increased by 14.60 percent to Tk 552.96 crore. But, the average trade volume fell by 2.30 percent to 13.12 crore shares.
The top five gainers of the week were Sonali Ansh, Style Craft, Libra Infusion, Wata Chemical and Central PHL. The major losing issues of the week were Tosrifa, Salvo Chemical, INTRACO, KDSALTD and Asia Pacific Insurance.
The top five turnover leaders were UPGDCL, KPC, SKTRIMS, Shepherd, Monno Ceramics and Ifad Autos. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 45.08 points lower at 16,055.50.
