Tk 245cr collected on 3rd day of tax fair

National Board of Revenue (NBR) collected Tk 2,448,269,833 crore on the third day of the week-long income tax fair, which is an increase by 4.90 per cent from the last year.
On the third day of the fair, a total of 74,047 taxpayers submitted income tax returns throughout the country, 86.65 per cent higher than that of the same day in the previous year at all the fair venues including divisional headquarters and central one at the officers club in the capital yesterday.
Some 261,455 people received services related to income tax payment from the taxmen, up from 59.18 per cent higher than previous year which was 1,64,252. Last year, 39,672 people have submitted their return files on the third day of the tax fair, this year the number is 74,047 and the difference is 34,375.
Some 6,156 new people have registered in electronic tax identification number (e-TIN), up from 270.40 per cent higher than previous year which was 1,662. In total, for the first three-days, National Board of Revenue (NBR) collected a total of Tk 10,144,067,279 crore which is an increase by 3.02 per cent from the last year.
Some 1,85,498 taxpayers submitted income tax returns whereas some 6,11,609 people received services related to income tax payment from taxmen which is an increase by 68.54 per cent and 54.20 than the last year.
This statistics showed the eagerness and enthusiasm of people for paying tax,
said NBR officials.
