Bangladesh women’s national football team suffered back to back to humiliating defeat in the Women’s Olympic Football pre-qualifying round when they went down to India by 7-1 yesterday in Yangon.
Bangladesh, in their opening match also conceded a 5-0 defeat at the hands of the hosts Myanmar by 5-0 in their first match.
It was very predictable that Bangladesh would concede defeat but the margin was not at all expected, as in the SAFF Women’s Championship India could defeat Bangladesh national team by 3-1.
In the different age group teams’ competition in the South Asian region Bangladesh defeated India in recent times.
However on the day, Bala Devi scored four goals when Komala Devi opened the flood-gate in the 17th minute.
Bala Devi, the most experienced player in the Indian team began her celebration on 22nd minute to double the team lead and completed her hat-trick on 62nd scoring on 24 and 62nd minute when the veteran women booter completed her rout on 76th.
It was second hat-trick of Bala Devi against Bangladesh when she scored three goals in the Women’s SAFF Championship in 2010 when India defeated Bangladesh by 6-0.
Sanju Yadov joined in the goal-galore celebration on 74th minute scoring the seventh goal for India in the match (7-0). Krishna Rani could reduce one goal for Bangladesh on 82nd minute.
Bangladesh will play their last match on tomorrow against Nepal.
