After the shift of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) schedule from October-November, 2018 to January 2019, it was being predicted that the BPL upcoming edition will be less grandeur and sparkling without international star players.
It was cited as cause that the bulk of the top-notch cricket playing nations will be busy in international cricket at that moment. But it has been proved ‘wrong’ as Australian swashbuckling batsman David Warner inked his deal with a BPL franchisee to play in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Earlier, South African star batsman AB de Villiers, English star batsman Alex Hales, West Indies stroke-maker Chris Gayle and his compatriot Shane Watson confirmed their participation in six-season of the BPL.
David Warner will play for the Sylhet Sixers and Shane Watson will bat for Dhaka Dynamites, while Chris Gayle, Alex Hales and AB de Villiers will get down for the Rangpur Riders.
Warner currently is serving a year-long suspension in international cricket for much-talked about ball-tempering scandal during the series against South Africa. The hard-hitting batsman though played not for the Aussies he played in Canadian Premier League before his maiden Caribbean Premier League (CPL) debut.
