Two Kurigram cops closed

Two constables of Razibpur Police Station were closed to the Kurigram Police Lines yesterday for negligence of duty over the escape of an accused from police custody, reports UNB. Additional Superintendent of Police of the district Shahab Uddin said the action was taken against constables Abdul Karim and Shamsul Alam. On Friday night, police arrested two drug peddlers Masud Alam, 30, and Nomarun Rashid, 35, along with 40 bottles of Phensidyl syrup and a motorbike from Jalchira Bandh on Roumari-Razibpur road. Nomarun who was injured during the arrest was admitted to a hospital under the custody of Abdul Karim and Shamsul Alam. However, Nomarun fled from the hospital.
