Bangladesh off to shaky start

Bangladesh got off to a shaky start to their campaign of the AFC Women Under-19 qualifying with a massive defeat of 7-0 to South Korea at the Republican Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

It was much predictable that Bangladesh women would go down to one of the powerhouses in the world football, specially, in the women competition as their South Korean counterpart clinched the third place in the World Cup Under-20.

Bangladesh team, who won the SAFF Under-18 Championship earlier this month in Bhutan and went Tajikistan with high hopes to at least generate some resistant against the superior side Korea but could not get along against their strong attack.

Bangladesh, after conceding three goals inside 22 minutes could only halt the giants for next 46 minutes of the game but the Korean sides again went to enlarge the margin and scored four goals in the rest of 90 minutes time.

Bangladesh will take on Chinese Taipei tomorrow and will face the hosts Tajikistan on October 28.

Meanwhile, top teams from six group and two best runners up will qualify in the final round of the AFC Under-19 to be held next year.
