After three days of government holiday for Eid-ul-Azha, all the government, semi-government and private offices, including banks and financial institutions, reopened with very low attendance of staffs. As it becomes a tradition over the years, a very poor attendance marked at the government, semi-government and other organisations. Officials said this situation would continue for one or two more days. However, some people were seen rushing to their respective offices to dispose off their pending urgent works on the opening day yesterday. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid exchanged Eid greetings with his colleagues at his secretariat office yesterday morning. “We sat together to exchange Eid greetings among us. And we have met here to discuss about our next course of works which will helpful for us to go forward,” he added. Bangladesh Secretariat sources said the office reopened as usual but the presence was very thin as many took leave with the Eid holiday. Besides, same pictures were available at almost other offices and financial institutions. Meanwhile, festive mood is prevailing at most of the offices. Officials and staffs were seen exchanging Eid greetings and embracing with their colleagues. The holiday-seekers, who went to their villages to celebrate the Eid with their relatives, have slowly started to return to their working places. Traffic is scarce in the capital as the holidaymakers are yet to come back from their native places.
