Work of Khulna Railway Station completed

KHULNA: Construction of long cherished modern Khulna Railway Station has been completed and ready for resuming work, reports BSS. The three storied Railway Station Building comprise of 1200 feet long three platforms, 4,000 square meter car parking space, link corridor, footpath and roads.

Mosabbir Haque Biplob, Engineer of Tama Construction, Contractor of the Railway Station Construction Work, said that they will hand over the modern Railway Station to the Bangladesh Railway Authority soon after its inaugural.

Project Director of the modern Railway Station Md Riad Ahmed said in 2007, the then caretaker government has taken ‘Remodelling of Khulna Railway Station and Yard’ Project.

On January 26, 2014, the Executive Committee of Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the project involving Tk. 60 crore, he said.

Construction works of the project has been started on April in 2015, he said, adding that construction works period was extended till December 2018.
