WB offers disaster-hit Indonesia $1b in loans

AFP

The World Bank yesterday announced funding of up to $1 billion for Indonesia after it was rocked by a string of recent disasters including a deadly earthquake-tsunami that killed thousands, reports AFP from Nusa Dua.

“The World Bank is making up to $1 billion available to the Indonesian authorities to use once they get a full understanding of what may be needed,” its CEO Kristalina Georgieva announced in Bali, where the Bank and the International Monetary Fund have been holding their annual meetings.
