DU ‘Gha’ unit admission test held

The first-year honours admission test of ‘Gha’ unit under the Social Science faculty of the 2018-19 academic session of Dhaka University was held yesterday. The one-hour test was held from 10 am to 11 am at 81centres inside and outside of the campus. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman, Pro Vice chancellor (administration) Prof Muhammad Samad, treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin, Dean of the Social Science Faculty and Coordinator of Gha Unit Admission Test Prof SadekaHalim and proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani visited the different examination halls at Social Science building of the University. A total of 95,341candidates appeared in the entry test this year against 1,615 seats under the unit.

Nat’l Math Olympiad held at JU

The ‘5th Math Olympiad-2018’ was held yesterday on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus with festive mood. With the slogan, ‘Ganit Niye Vabbe Joto, Shanito Hobe Buddhi Toto' Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), the lone science based social organsation of the university arranged the contest on the Jahangirnagar University School and College premises. Director of Wazed Miah Science Research Centre and also the adviser of JUSC Prof Khabir Uddin inaugurated the contest yesterday morning.  Around 4,000 students of class VI to XII from over 100 schools and colleges across the country took part in the contest. Contests were taken in two phase. First phase test of class VI, VIII, IX was held from 9am to 10am; second phase test of class VII, X, XI and XII was held from 11 am to 12 pm. The prize-giving ceremony will be held on November 9, while 15 from each class will be selected as the winner.
