Law Minister Anisul Huq yesterday said the government will decide the next course of action after analysing the copies of the verdicts in the August 21 grenade attack cases, reports UNB. "If the August 21 grenade attack is true, then the verdicts are also appropriate. We'll decide our next course of action after going through the judgment copies," he said while talking to reporters at Akhaura Railway Station in Brahmanbaria after inaugurating the distribution of Awami League election leaflets among people.
On Wednesday, a speedy trial tribunal in Dhaka sentenced 19 people to death, 19 others, including BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, to life imprisonment and eight more to different terms of jail in two cases filed over the August 21 grenade attack on an Awami League rally in the capital in 2004.
About BNP's threat to wage a movement, Anisul said no one responds to their call for agitation. "So, there's nothing to be worried about," he said.
The minister along with his supporters distributed leaflets among people in different areas of his constituency.
