RAKUB to reach banking services to farmers doorsteps

RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) is pledged bound to reach banking services to the doorsteps of the farmers for improving their living and livelihood condition, reports BSS.
The bank has brought many potential agriculture sectors and sub-sectors under inclusive investment as it has an important role in boosting agricultural production side by side with promoting agro-based industries to bolster the rural economy.
The observation came at RAKUBs 484th board meeting held here on Tuesday with Chairman Nazrul Islam in the chair, RAKUB sources said.
RAKUB, headquartered in Rajshahi, has been operating its banking activities as the largest development partner in 16 northwest districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions targeting agricultural sector and sub-sectors.
The meeting viewed that all the branch level officials and other field staff should discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to attain the cherished goal.
It noted that the banks administrative and operational activities must be more transparent and accountable alongside farmers-friendly for boosting agricultural production.
The meeting called for increasing the need-based credit flow for the sake of sustainable livelihood development of the farmers and bolstering the agro-based economy.
As a whole, the village-level branches should be committed to reaching the banking services to the doorsteps of the potential women to attain the goal.
