After much speculation among the audience, the release date of the much-anticipated film adaptation of Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Debi’ has been finally set for October 19. The film ‘Devi’, made with a government grant, was given approval last week after the grants committee watched the film. Later, the film was waiting for the approval of the Censor Board. After watching the film, the members of the censor board applauded the film ‘Devi’. The members of the censor board agreed to give permission to release the film without any kind of cut.
Directed by Anam Biswas, the film features Jaya Ahsan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Animesh Aich, Iresh Zaker and Sabnam Faria in the lead roles. The film has already created a lot of buzz among the audiences as well.
Iftekhar Uddin Nowshad, a member of the censor board and the owner of Madhumita Cinema Hall, said, “We are sure that audiences are going to get a film with different taste. Viewers from all walks of life should support such types of films.”
Produced by Jaya Ahsan’s production house C tey Cinema, the team ‘Devi’ will now begin different types of campaigns and activities to promote the film.
