CHATTOGRAM: The 4th national Development Fair was inaugurated in Chattogram, Rajshahi and Barishal aiming to showcase the development activities of the present government, reports BSS.
The countrywide development fair was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through a videoconference from her Gonobhaban residence.
The three-day Unnayan Mela (Development Fair) began in the port city and in all the upazila headquarters across district with the slogan ‘Indomitable Bangladesh in March towards Development’.
Secretary to the Ministry of Energy Dr Ahamed Kaikaus inaugurated the fair in Chattogram by releasing balloons at the fair venue, in front of Gymnasium hall of M A Aziz Stadium.
Earlier, the district administration brought out a rally from Chatogram circuit house at 9 am today.
The rally concluded at Gymnasium hall premises of M A Aziz Stadium after parading different important city streets.
Mohammad Ilias Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram presided over the function while Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Abdul
Mannan, Deputy Inspector General of Police Chattogram range Khandoker Golam Faruk, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Mahabubur Rahman and superintendent of Chattogram district police Nur-E- Alam Mina, among others, high officials of district administration, local elites addressed the function as guests.
This year’s fair will also showcase Bangabandhu Satellite and different mega projects of the government in various sectors.
Over 170 government, semi government and private organisations have set up stalls at the fair venue showcasing the development activities of the present government.
The fair will remain open for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm each day.
Another report adds from RAJSHAHI: The fair organised by District Administration was held in Rajshahi College playground where more than 172 government and associate development organisations showcasing their respective development achievements in separate stalls.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the opening session as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader in the chair.
Divisional Commissioner Nur-Ur-Rahman, Director General of NGO Bureau Abdus Salam, DIG of Rajshahi Range Khurshid Hussain and Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Hafiz Akhter were present there.
Mayor Liton said that an epoch-making development has been attained in Bangladesh during the term of the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
And the fair is very much important showcase those before the public in general.
Side by side with the fair, four reality shows will be held highlighting the achievements of MDG and other development fields by the school students.
The fair will remain open from 9 am to 8 pm for public in general till October 6.
The common people are getting benefits of massive developments implemented by the present government in every sector to improve their life standard in last ten years.
The observation came yesterday at a post-rally discussion arranged by the Rangpur district administration at launching ceremony of the fourth three-day National Development Fair-2018 on Public Library ground in the city.
Our Barishal reporter adds: Barisal district administration organised the fair on Abdur Rob Serniabat outer Stadium premises of the city. DC Barisal Md Habibur Rahman presided over the programme said this year different government, non government, NGOs and socio cultural organisations open a total 200 stalls at the fair venue.
