RCC mayor Liton takes charge today

RAJSHAHI: AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, newly elected mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), will take his official charge today, reports BSS.

To this end, the RCC has arranged a colourful installation ceremony at its green plaza in the afternoon with commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur- Rahman in the chair, said Shah Momin, chief executive officer of RCC.

Talking to journalists here yesterday, Liton said, “I want to regain the previous image of Rajshahi as a green and clean city through making it eye-catching one on a priority basis.”

He is committed to generating employment opportunities for one lakh unemployed people. He is also pledged bound to build Rajshahi as a prosperous, modern and developed city.

Liton pledged to expedite industrialization process in the city and its outskirts.

 “I am very much hopeful about improving the living and livelihood condition of Rajshahi people as the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is positive towards Rajshahi’s development,” he added.
