Two children drown in Cumilla

Cumilla: Two minor boys drowned in a pond at Atakra village in Laksam upazila in the district yesterday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Mahi Uddin, 8, son of Foyez Ahmed and Md Mohan, 7, son of Safayetullah of the village.

Locals said Mohan slipped into a pond while playing beside it. When Mahi tried to rescue him he also drowned in the pond.

Later, locals recovered their floating bodies from the pond and rushed to upazila health complex where doctors declared them dead, he added.
