Quiz show ‘Bangladesh Jiggasha’

2,004 to take part in written exam in Rajshahi, Barishal tomorrow

A total of  2,004 participants will take part in written tests of quiz show ‘Bangladesh Jiggasha’ in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions tomorrow.

Our Rajshahi correspondent reports: One thousand participants will take part in written test that will start at 4:00pm and will continue till 4:30pm at Rajshahi Residential Model High School and College.  

Ashish Saikat, chief of news, Independent Television, said this while addressing a press conference in Rajshahi yesterday. Kazi Shariful Islam, manager of IFIC Bank, Rajshahi branch was also present there.

Prominent news channel  Independent TV is going to air the quiz show on the topics of the achievements, successes and failures of 47 years of Bangladesh since independence, said Ashish Saikat.

A  total of 75,000 people were registered to take part in the programme. Of them, 10,073 are from Rajshahi division. However, one thousand participants have been able to cross the first step in Rajshahi and they are allowed to attend the written examination on Friday.    

Our Barishal reporter adds: A total 1,004 participants will take part in written examination at BM School tomorrow, said Special Affairs Editor of Independent Television Zahid Hossain. He said this at a press conference at a hotel in the city yesterday attended by President of Barishal Press Club Kazi Nasir Uddin Babul, President of Barishal Metropolitan Press Club Kazi Abul Kalam Azad, President of Sushasoner Janna Nagarik Barishal city unit Professor Shah Sazeda, Manager of IFIC Bank of Barishal branch Sardar Zakir Hossain and Journalist Murad Ahmed.    

It is learnt, a total of 64 participants, eight from each division, will qualify for the ‘Bangladesh Jiggasha’ stage. The champion will receive Tk1 crore, first runner-up Tk25 lakh. The second and third runner-ups will receive Tk15 and Tk5 lakh respectively. Each semi-finalist will get Tk2 lakh and each quarter finalist Tk1 lakh.

Second round qualifiers will get Tk 50,000 each, and first round qualifiers Tk 25,000 each.
