Tk 2.48 lakh looted from bKash DSO
Miscreants snatched Tk 2.48 lakh from a distribution and sales officer (DSO) of a bKash dealer on Dhaka-Munshiganj highway in Fatullah on Monday noon. Talking to UNB, victim Saikat Hossain said he was returning to his office after collecting money from different bKash agents in Naya Bazar and Bhanga Club areas. When he reached in front of Jahangir Store near Fatullah Filing Station, a group of armed miscreants waylaid him around 12 noon and took away Tk 2.48 lakh at gunpoint. They also fired two rounds of bullet and blasted two crude bombs in a bid to flee the scene creating panic. Soon after the incident, he lodged a complaint with Fatullah Model Police Station, said Shah Manjur, officer-in-charge of the police station.
Truckers put road barricade
Truck movement remained suspended for two hours as the truck workers put up barricade on Shiroile Railgate area in the city on Monday in protest of sending a truck driver and his assistant to jail in a court order in an accident case. Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kashiadanga Police Station, said Maruf Hossain, 16 was killed when a cattle-laden truck ploughed through a shop at Balia in Kashiadanga on September 9. Azizul Alam, 55, grandfather of the victim filed a case against the truck owner Babu Azad, 37, son of Barjahan Ali of Tanore upazila and Jibon, 37, a truck driver and son of Ayeb Ali of Paba upazila and Bulbul, 27, son of Abdur Rahman of the city in this connection.
