Smuggled Indian sarees, banned medicines seized

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a huge quantity of Indian saree, banned medicine and fire crackers worth Tk 75 lakh from Baropota border area under Benapole Port police station yesterday afternoon.

But they could not arrest any smuggler at that time.

Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion said on information, the BGB men seized a truck loaded with Indian sarees, banned medicine and fire crackers worth Tk 75 lakh. The seized goods were deposit to Benapole customs godown.
