Night guard hacked dead in Khulna

KHULNA:  A night guard was hacked to death by miscreants at the Khulna Zilla Stadium on Monday morning, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Abdul Jalil, 55, a night guard of Khulna Zilla Stadium and a resident of the Stadium area. Kazi Shamim Ahasan, general secretary of Khulna Zilla Stadium, said Abdul Jalil, who worked as night guard at the stadium for more than 20 years caught a construction worker on allegation of stealing money on Sunday night and confined him in the guard room. On Monday morning, other construction workers of the stadium stormed into the guard room by breaking the door to free the confined worker and hacked Jalil with sharp weapons around 4am, leaving him dead on the spot. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
