RANGPUR: Literary and cultural personalities at a discussion here have called for further enriching and nurturing Bengali literature and culture to eliminate social curses like drug abuse, militancy and terrorism, reports BSS. They made the call at the discussion arranged by ‘Mouchak Family’ at Town Hall auditorium on Saturday night to celebrate the fourth founding anniversary of the quarterly literary newspaper ‘Mouchak’.
The ‘Mouchak’ is being published and edited by poet Rezaul Karim Jiban from Rangpur city since 2014. On the occasion, the organisers published the ninth edition of the paper, awarded literary personalities, arranged discussion and functions for recitation of poems, rendering songs and dance, staging of drama and colourful cultural evening.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharif Mohammad Foyzul Alam attended the functions and unveiled cover of the ninth edition as the chief guest.

Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber President Rezaul Islam Milan addressed the discussion as special guests.
Publisher and Editor of the ‘Mouchak’ Rezaul Karim Jiban delivered the welcome speech in the discussion jointly moderated by Sharif Suman and Shahina Sultana.
Many writers, poets, literary and cultural personalities, contributors of the paper, civil society members, socio-cultural activists, academicians, journalists and elite attended the functions.
The speakers said the cultural, literary and social organisations should expand periphery of nurturing healthier cultural and literary activities involving the young generations to build a healthier society free from drug, militancy and terrorism.
