Six �robbers� arrested

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive arrested six alleged robbers with arms and ammunition from Shyampur area in the capital Sunday night. The arrested were identified as Md Sumon, Md Jahed Mir, Badol Mia, Rifat Sikder, Kazi Afzal and Md Anwar. Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of DMP Muntasirul Islam Rony told The Independent that on secret information, a DB team, led by Senior Assistant Commissioner Shingdo Sarker, raided Shyampur area around 8:30pm. Later, they arrested the alleged six robbers along with one foreign revolver, two rounds of bullet and two sharp weapons.
