The continuous rain forced all of the four matches of the 17th National Cricket League (NCL) to end in a dull draw yesterday at different venues across the country.
Due to the nationwide torrential rains, all the Tier-1 and Tier-2 matches were called off at 2:15pm following one minute silence being observed at the sad demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya, president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The match between Chittagong Division and Sylhet Division washed out after being bowled some few overs at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. Chittagong Division put on 36 with no loss following Sylhet Division’s first innings declared for 352-8. Tamim Iqbal made 13 off 10 with three boundaries to remain unbeaten. Yasir Ali struck 14-ball 23, clubbing four fours as well as one six. Ruman Ahmed, who slammed 80 for Sylhet, was named the player of the match.
The match between Rangpur Division vs Dhaka Metro and Rajshahi Division vs Barisal Division matches have been washed out without a ball being bowled at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra and Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi respectively.
Mahmudul Hasan, who grabbed five wickets alongside 41 runs with bat for Rangpur, was awarded with the player of the match.
