RAJSHAHI: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered 2,530 liters of stolen train fuel and arrested three persons in this connection from Azimpur Railway Station area under Lalpur Upazila in Natore district early yesterday, BSS.
According to the RAB sources, the arrested persons were identified as Mokbul Hossain, 48, Abdul Awal, 44, and Rafiqul Islam, 38.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in the area at about 3 am and arrested them. Based on their confessional statement, the operation team recovered 600 liters of petrol, 200 liters of diesel, 400 liters of kerosene, 1,200 liters of mobil and 130 liters of mixed fuel.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Azmal Hossain, Company Commander of RAB-5, said the arrested persons were involved in stealing fuel from stranded trains at Azimpur station for long. Meanwhile, the RAB members arrested four alleged drug peddlers here on charge of taking drugs and drug trading.
On tips-off, the elite force conducted drives in different areas of Rajshahi, Natore and Chapainawabganj districts on Tuesday and arrested the people for their alleged involvement in drug trading or taking drugs.
