The High Court yesterday granted anticipatory bail to seven BNP leaders, including its standing committee member Tariqul Islam, in eight cases filed with Paltan and Adabor Police stations, reports UNB.
They were granted bail until law enforcers submit report in the cases. The HC bench of Justice Md Habibul Gani and Justice Mohammad Ali passed the order when all the accused were present on the dock. The other BNP leaders are BNP vice- chairman adv Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, adv Abdur Rezzak Khan, advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury, adv Taherul Islam Towhid, adv Aktaruzzaman, advocate Ferdous Aktar Wahida. The cases filed on September 11, 12, 13 and 14 on charge of creating violence and preventing law enforcers from performing duties.
