Five to die for killing father-son in Keraniganj

A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced five people to death in a case lodged over murder of a man and his son in Keraniganj. Dhaka 7th additional district and sessions judge court passed the order and also fined the convicts Tk 20, 000 each for their offence, reports BSS.

The convicts are- Nazrul Islam Noju, Mister, Shafikul Islam, Mohammad Arif and Mohammad Masud. Of the five, the last two are still at large.

According to case documents, the convicts on July 13, 1993, went to the business place of Mohammad Sharif in Molopara, Keraniganj, and demanded goods without paying any money. As Sharif declined, they shot at Sharif’s sons Khokon, 9, and Shahajahan, 12.

Sharif too got shot as he tried to save his sons. Sharif and his one son later died of their injuries.
