Stocks maintained upward trends yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges increased on higher transactions, reports BSS.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 824.71 crore from Tuesday’s Tk 731.69 crore and the daily trade also rose to 19.78 crore share from 17.96 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 32.45 points up at 5,505.05. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 6.12 points up at 1,911.21. But, the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.95 points down at 1,261.42.
At the DSE, prices of 157 securities out of the day’s 336 closed higher against 132 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Janata Insurance, Pragati Life, Saiham Textile, Delta Life and NHFIL. The major losing issues were MLDYEING, Metro Spinning, Salvo Chemical, Meghna Pet and Savar EFR.
KPCL topped the turnover list, followed by Intech, Active Fine, NHFIL and PTL.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed
the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 115.03 points up at 19,946.51.
At the CSE, 252 issues were traded. Of those, 132 closed higher and 88 closed lower.
