Three sustain bullet injuries in Savar attack
Two transgender people and a private car driver sustained bullet injuries in an attack in Moragang area of Ashulia on Monday noon. The injured are- Rasheda, 45, Sikha, 35 and the driver Nurunnabi, 22. F M Sayed, officer-in-charge of Dhaka district Detective Branch of Police (North), said a private car obstructed another car carrying four transgender people, including Rasheda and Sikha, while they were going to Uttara from Ashulia. Two young men got down from the vehicle and opened fire on them, leaving the trio injured with bullet.
18 accused over killing
of Ctg Juba Dal man
18 people have been accused over the December 2017 killing of a Juba Dal activist who was stabbed and shot by ruling party activists coming from an AL procession at Kadamtali area under Sadarghat Police Station In Chattogram. Investigation officer of the case submitted a chargesheet accusing 18 pro-AL men to the prosecution department of a Chattogram court on Sunday said Nejam Uddin, the OC of Sadarghat Police Station.
5,117 cases filed for traffic rule violation
Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the streets in capital on Sunday filed 5,117 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realised around Taka 32 lakh as fine for traffic rule violation, said an official release. Of the total cases, 379 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 92 for using hydraulic horn, four for using hooter and beckon light and 23 others for using tinted glass.
