Khulna BCL leader held with yaba

Khulna: Police detained a city unit leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) - student front of the ruling Awami League - in possession of banned drug yaba from Baikali Palpara area in the city on Saturday night, reports UNB. The detainee was identified as Helal, Information and Technology Affairs Secretary of Khulna City Unit BCL.  Officer-in-charge of Khalishpur Police Station Mosharrof Hossain said law enforcers arrested Helal with 50 pieces of yaba on him around 8pm.  Helal was presented before the court on Sunday, the OC added.  Helal was accused of selling yaba in Khulna city and spreading the contraband tablets to the students of colleges and universities in the city through his accomplices.  A recommendation circular signed by BCL city unit President and General Secretary has been sent to the central BCL for cancelling Helal’s membership from BCL.
