PM gives financial assistance to 12 persons

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday gave financial assistance of Tk 1.75 crore to 12 persons including the BNP-Jamaat arson attack victims and ailing Awami League leaders and workers, reports BSS. The premier handed over cheques for donations to them at a function held her office in Dhaka yesterday noon. Those who received the donations included Nasrin Begum, wife of Joj Mian, a truck helper of Brahmanbaria, Salma Begum, wife of Monu Mia, a truck driver of the same district, and Rina Parveen, wife of Md Jalaluddin, a slain inspector of Detective Branch of Police. Joj Mian and Monu Mia sustained serious injuries in petrol bomb attack of the BNP-Jamaat in 2014, while Jalaluddin was killed by the terrorists’ bullet while going to recover illegal firearms.
