Two-day classical music soiree begins at Chhayanaut today

A two-day classical music soiree titled ‘Sunaad’ by the students of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay is set to kick off today evening at the Chhayanaut auditorium in Dhanmondi of the capital.

Organised by Bengal Foundation, the first day of the event will feature Sarod recital, Khayal and Tabla recital. The programme will begin with a group performance of Sarod by Isra Fuljhuri Khan, Ilham Fuljhuri Khan, Saddam Hossain and Arefin Rony, with Ratan Kumar Das and SupanthaMojumder on the Tabla.

Mirajul Jannat Sonia will perform Khayal, while Prashanta Bhowmik will be on the Tabla and Alamgir Parvez Sumon on Harmonium. Besides, there will be a Tabla Lahara by Supantha Mojumder, with Alamgir Parvez Sumon on the Harmonium.  

On the other hand, guest artist Aloke Sen will perform Khayal, with Sabuj Ahmed on the Tabla, and Mohammad Shakur on the Harmonium.

The second day of the event will feature Sitar recital, Khayal, Dhrupad and Esraj recital. Prasenjit Mondol, Jyoti Banerjee, Jahangir Alam Sraban, Mohammad Kauser, Sohini Majumder, Sameen Yaser Iftee and Subrata Biswas will recite Sital, while Prashanta Bhowmik and Supantha Mojumder will play Tabla.

There will be a Khayal performance by Kaniz Husna Ahammady, with Prashanta Bhowmik on the Tabla and Alamgir Parvez Sumon on the Harmonium. Dhrupad by Avijit Kundu and Tinku Shil, with Alamgir Parvez Sumon on the Pakhawaj.   

The group Esraj recital will be performed by Sayeda Rayhan, Raihanul Amin, Ranjit Roy, Sukla Halder, Ismat Ara Ruchy, Shounak Debnath Wreek, Saumit Roy, Gourango Krishna Das and Esraj Tutor Mr Debashis Haldar, with Supantha Mojumder on the Tabla.

Entry to the event is free of cost and open to all.
