A 24-hour control room has been established in the embassy in Tripoli to provide assistance to Bangladeshis living in war-weary Libya, the foreign ministry said yesterday. “On August 27, conflicts have spread across Tripoli and the government has declared a state of alert. Against the backdrop of the ongoing situation, the embassy is aware about the safety of the expatriate Bangladeshi,” said a press release. A round-the-clock control room has been set up to help the Bangladeshi expatriates, it said.The telephone numbers of the control room are: 00218913776914, 0021891694207 and 00218926299270 while the email addresses are: lybialw@ yahoo.com, bdtripoli@ yahoo.com and ashraful_tax@ yahoo.com. Earlier, the embassy has issued an advisory asking Bangladeshis to limit their movement in the streets and remain at their homes carefully.
