Bangladesh national men’s volleyball team left Tehran for Colombo yesterday to participate in the Asian Volleyball Championship to be held from September 15 to 22.
Bangladesh team went to Iran on August 12 to attend a training camp and preparation matches in Tehran for one month. Bangladesh’s Irani coach Alipour Azouri organized the month long tour of Iran.
Asian Volleyball Federation is organizing the tournament to determine the rankings of the Asian nations. Since it will be a ranking-tournament, Bangladesh will have to play with all participating teams. They will start their campaign on September 15 against Sri Lanka. Then the team will play remaining matches against Hong Kong, Mongolia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Maurtius. The team will return home on September 23.
