Tk 637.09cr KCC budget announced
KHULNA: Khulna City Corporation (KCC) mayor Mohammad Moniruzzaman yesterday announced aTk 637.09 crore budget for 2018-19 fiscal year with focus on ending water logging and roads renovation.
The budget was announced at Shaheed Altaf Auditorium of KCC around 11am in presence of KCC chief executive officer Palash Kanti Bala, panel mayors, councilors, journalists and civil society leaders.
In the last fiscal, the original budget was Tk 440.79 crore which was revised to be Tk 255.78 crore. The rate of implementation of the budget was 58.29 per cent.
The mayor said that the new budget is development-oriented one and no new tax has been imposed on the city dwellers. Several new plans have been taken in the budget for public welfare.
Of the total budget, Tk 134.22 crore will come from its own earnings.
Tk 77.51 crore has been earmarked for annual development works which include 46.99 crore for public works, Tk 16.27 crore for conservancy sector and Tk 11 crore for health sector.
