A fishing trawler with 12 fishermen on board capsized near Fairway Buoy of Mongla Port in Bay of Bengal after being hit by a commercial ship yesterday morning, reports UNB. Fishing trawler- Swadhin-3 which came from Patharghata, sank after being hit by a commercial ship, said a press release of Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR). A patrolling ship of Bangladesh Navy - Turag rushed to the spot and rescued 9 fishermen from the spot while three others still remained missing. The rescued fishermen were- Md Hanif, 40, Md Abul Kalam, 42, Md Jakir Hossain, 47, Md Sujon, 28, Md Rubel, 28, MD Musa, 22, Md Jakaria, 16, Md Kabir, 42, and Md Monir. Three salvage ships -Turag, Megna and Nisan were working to rescue the missing fishermen.
