Customs intelligence officials in a drive seized 420 cartons of foreign cigarettes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital early yesterday, reports UNB.
Tipped off, a team of customs intelligence conducted a driver at baggage belt and green channel of the airport, said Dr. Md Shahidul Islam, director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate.
At one stage, they found four abandoned luggage at no 3 baggage belt area and recovered the cigarettes from the luggage. The luggage came in a flight (KU 283) from Kuwait which landed at the airport at 5 am.
