JU students besiege business studies faculty

JU Correspondent, Savar

A group of students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday besieged Business Studies Faculty demanding to continue academic activities of a female student who had been barred to sit in fifth semester final examination hall of Finance and Banking department.

Earlier, the department decided to expel her and disallow to sit in fifth semester final examination which is being started from today.

Terming the decision illegal, over 70 students on the banner of Progressive Student Alliance and JU Cultural Alliance took position in front of JU Business Studies Faculty about at 9am locking the main entrance of the faculty which was continued till noon.

The victim student was Saima Iqbal, a 44th batch student of Finance and Marketing department of the university.
