Cox's Bazar: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives seized 9 lakh yaba tablets from different areas in Teknaf upazila early Saturday, reports UNB.
Shariful Islam Jamaddar, additional director of BGB-2, said on information, a team of BGB, led by commanding officer Lt Col Md Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, conducted a drive in Ariakhal around 4:20 am.
They chased a gang of yaba traders while they were crossing the canal along with eight sacks. At one stage, they fled away leaving the sacks.
A total 8 lakh yaba tablets worth Tk 24 crore were recovered from the sacks. Besides, another team of BGB recovered one lakh Yaba tablets worth Tk 3 crore from Hariakhali Laban Math area.
