Sonya Hossain to play rural character in Eid drama serial

Popular actress Sonya Hossain will be seen playing a challenging role in popular director Salauddin Lavlu’s new Eid drama serial titled ‘Wife Maney Istree…Sida Amar Chai’. The actress will be seen playing a rural character for the first time in her career as she will portray the role of Laily. Not only will she be playing a rural character, but as per the requirements of that specific role, she will also be speaking the dialect of Pabna. DhakaLive has news that the shooting of this six-episode drama serial began from Friday at a shooting house in Pubail, Gazipur.
Sonya Hossain expressed her gratitude towards the director and crew, “I am extremely grateful to Salauddin Lavlu. Prior to this, I did not have much contact with him or met him properly. He had enough confidence in me to choose me for this role because he thought I would be suitable for the character of Laily. But to be honest, at first I was a little nervous because I have never spoken in Pabna dialect nor did I ever play a rural character. However, Salauddin Lavlu’s unit has been very supportive and cooperative, especially helping me speak in the Pabna dialect.”
To note, Sonya Hossain will be seen during Eid on RTV and SATV’s special dance programmes. She will also be presenting the show ‘Kaaler Gaan’ on Desh TV for seven straight days. In addition, during Eid, Sonya Hossain will be appearing in Safayet Mansur Rana’s six-episode Eid drama serial titled ‘What is Love’ which will be aired on RTV. She will also be seen on Maasranga TV’s ‘Celebrity Cooking Show’.
